As reported by the international media, the flooding in Queensland is seriously affecting large areas of the state. The purpose of this post is to clarify the situation in regards to the University of the Sunshine Coast.

Firstly, south-east Queensland areas (Brisbane, Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast etc) are NOT affected by flooding. Secondly, the flooding in central Queensland is more than 500kms to the north of Brisbane/Sunshine Coast.

Everything here on the Sunshine Coast is ok and the university is ready for the start of the new semester in February. Finally, our thoughts go out to those affected and we hope that the situation improves dramatically in the coming weeks.
